Lately there has been more evident that politicians and political parties and organizations work closely with PR firms. This is also noticeable if you look at the careers of people within politics and Public relations. People within politics tend to end up at PR firms sooner or later, possibly for the money. At the same time an increasing amount of people from the field of Public relations are working there way into politics, mostly in order to further their network and possibly one day start a career as a politician. The connection between people within politics, politicians and PR firms are most obvious in the city of Brussels. A career within Public relations is quite popular nowadays, the amount of PR firms is increasing and so is the level of professionalism within the field. But is Public relations for everybody? Of course not, “Public relations” is a good career for the generalist since public relations requires familiarity with a wide variety of topics. Public relations have become somewhat of a trend, and this is also something that colleges around the globe have realized and thus offer degrees in public relations. This is something that most industry professionals agree is unnecessary. Instead if someone wants to pursue a career within Public relations, they should look after a broader education.
