Corporate communications is a field within public relations which concerns internal communications management. In other words it deals with how companies and organizations share important knowledge, information and decisions with employees, suppliers, investors and partners. An example is the annual report which is used by enterprises as a corporate communications tool to convey information related to results, processes and relationships of the company. The annual reports are occurring on a yearly basis.
In corporate communications the object of the communications work is the company/enterprise itself as opposed to marketing communications where the object of communications is product/produce or services provided by the company/enterprise. The aim of corporate communications is building company's reputation among its stakeholders
(as opposed to brand building in marketing communications). Consulting within the field of corporate communications mainly consists of identifying target groups both external and internal, create and develop the message that is to be communicated and pinpointing the best communication channels. With a successful corporate communication both internal and external communication is seen and functions as one single entity in the enterprises communication, it is structured, sharp and quick. And it is always well researched.
